Super Midsize Jet Management
Professional aircraft management removes the operational, regulatory, and logistical burden of business jet ownership. For super midsize owners, the complexity of self-operation makes the choice between managing independently and engaging a professional company one of the most consequential in aviation ownership.

Management Company Role
A management company assumes full operational, regulatory, and logistical responsibility for a privately owned aircraft — handling flight operations, maintenance, crew, and financial reporting through a single point of contact.

Why Owners Choose Management
International routing, type-specific training cycles, C-check intervals, and maintenance reserve planning create a full-time operational load. Professional management absorbs that complexity regardless of annual flight hours.
Core Services Included in Aircraft Management
A full-service management agreement covers flight operations (trip planning, permits, customs, FBO coordination), maintenance management (scheduled inspections, AOG response, airworthiness compliance), crew management (recruitment, vetting, scheduling, training currency), charter management when applicable (revenue reporting), and financial reporting (monthly statements, escrow, maintenance reserve tracking).
Crew staffing integrates directly with the management program, enabling seamless deployment across jurisdictions. The owner works through a single team rather than coordinating each function independently.
Safety Certifications That Define Management Quality
IS-BAO Stage 3
IS-BAO (International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations) is a three-stage progressive certification developed by IBAC and aligned with ICAO standards. Stage 1 establishes baseline safety documentation. Stage 2 requires an implemented Safety Management System with operational evidence. Stage 3 — the highest level — requires a fully embedded SMS, external audit verification, and demonstrated safety culture. A Stage 3 company has undergone independent auditing at the highest IBAC-developed operational safety standard in business aviation.
ARGUS Gold
ARGUS Gold evaluates operator safety records, crew qualifications, and operational infrastructure through independent third-party review. For owners whose aircraft will be chartered, the rating determines which clients can book — many corporate travel programs and high-net-worth principals restrict bookings exclusively to ARGUS Gold–rated operators.
Wyvern Wingman
The following describes Wyvern Wingman as an industry certification for contextual reference. ACASS holds IS-BAO Stage 3 and ARGUS Gold. Wyvern Wingman is not an ACASS credential.
Wyvern Wingman performs a function comparable to ARGUS’s, using its own audit methodology to independently verify operator safety standards. For international operations, IS-BAO Stage 3 combined with ARGUS Gold or Wyvern certification carries direct insurance implications and governs access to premium FBOs in regulated markets globally.
AOC vs. Broker
ACASS holds AOCs in Canada, Ireland, and San Marino. Regulatory accountability, crew standards, and oversight flow directly from ACASS — not through an intermediary.
Direct AOC operators deploy the same SMS, crew standards, and maintenance oversight across every authorized region. A broker cannot offer that continuity.

Aircraft Management Cost
Aircraft management costs are tailored to your specific aircraft, usage profile, and operational footprint. ACASS provides transparent, customized cost structures designed to reflect your actual requirements — not a generic fee schedule.

Global Provider Criteria
Multi-jurisdictional operators need a provider that meets all criteria simultaneously. With 30+ years across 56 countries, IS-BAO Stage 3, and ARGUS Gold, we eliminate the gaps that fragmented networks cannot.

How to Choose
Choose a management company based on IS-BAO certification level, documented experience with your specific aircraft type, jurisdiction coverage, and transparent fee structure.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does an aircraft management company do?
An aircraft management company assumes full operational, regulatory, and logistical responsibility for a privately owned aircraft. Core functions include flight operations, maintenance coordination, crew management, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, and, when applicable, charter management. Owners retain the asset; the management company runs the operational infrastructure required to keep it airworthy, legally compliant, and properly crewed.
How much does aircraft management cost per month?
Aircraft management costs for a super midsize jet depend on your specific aircraft, crew structure, operating region, and whether the aircraft participates in a charter program. ACASS structures fees transparently, tailored to your operational profile rather than a standardized schedule.
What is the difference between Part 91 and Part 135 aircraft management?
In the United States, Part 91 governs private, non-commercial operations while Part 135 enables revenue-generating charter operations — each with distinct certification, training, and audit requirements. ACASS operates under equivalent frameworks in its AOC jurisdictions — Canada, Ireland, and San Marino — which govern the same fundamental distinction between private and commercial operations across 56 countries. Owners who want to offset ownership costs through charter need an AOC-authorized management provider.
What is IS-BAO Stage 3 certification, and why does it matter?
IS-BAO is the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations, a three-stage progressive certification developed by IBAC and aligned with ICAO standards. Stage 3 is the highest level, requiring a fully implemented Safety Management System, external audit verification, and demonstrated continuous improvement. For owners, IS-BAO Stage 3 signals that the aircraft management company has met the highest independently audited operational safety standard in business aviation — with direct implications for insurance premiums, charter client access, and FBO access in premium markets.
Can I still control my aircraft’s schedule if I use a management company?
The owner’s travel always takes priority in scheduling under a business jet management agreement. The management company handles logistics related to the owner’s schedule, not in place of it. When the aircraft is enrolled in an AOC-authorized charter program, charter flights are scheduled around confirmed owner travel commitments. The owner’s access to their aircraft is never subordinated to charter revenue objectives.
